“It’s not goodbye. It’s, ‘see you again soon’.” Ito ang mensaheng iniwan nina LJ Moreno at Jimmy Alapag para sa kanilang pamilya, mga kaibigan at tagahanga matapos nilang ipahayag sa kanilang pinakabagong vlog na umalis na sila sa Pilipinas para magsimula ng bagong buhay sa Amerika.
“It’s been a strange six months, to say the least. With so many of us affected by this p@ndemic, I know it’s forced us as a family to kind of change course a little bit in terms of what our plans were as a family,” kwento ni Jimmy sa unang bahagi ng vlog.
Ikinuwento rin ni Jimmy na bukod sa kanyang basketball career na lubos na naapektuhan dahil sa p@ndemya ay isa rin daw sa naging dahilan nila upang pumunta sa Amerika ang kanyang ama na 82 taong gulang na.
Ani Jimmy, “Going through everything this past few months, LJ and I talked about what will be the next step for our family — what was gonna be happening as far as the basketball landscape in Manila.”
Dagdag niya, “Again with this p@ndemic, my dad just turned 82 this June. It was very important for us to be closer to family.”
Pagpapatuloy nila LJ at Jimmy, “We both love the Philippines. We started our family there. We met our eldest [Ian] there.”
Ayon naman kay LJ, “And if you’re wondering why we didn’t do that while we’re still in Manila, it was just — there’s so much going on. First, I got pregnant. Then we had a m!scarriage.”
Sa vlog ay binalikan din ni Jimmy kung paano nabago ang kanyang buhay dahil sa naging desisyon niya na pumunta sa Pilipinas.
Aniya, “I know for me it’s a been such a growth in the last nineteen years. Thinking about my situation when I first came to Manila and just really being so young, naive about life…It was the absolute best decision I ever made to come to Manila, to back home and play. I’m so thankful.”
Sinabi rin ni LJ na, “We’re not closing our doors. It’s just right now because of the current situation. This is the best thing to do for us. And we did really pray about it.”
Sa huli ay inamin nina LJ at Jimmy na na-disappoint sila lalo na sa mga balita na nagsasabi na, “Jimmy Alapag and LJ Alapag have left for good”, dahil wala raw itong katotohanan.
Ani LJ, “I’m sad because I’m gonna miss them but I’m not sad that we’re here because this is where God wants us to be. And like we said, it is not goodbye, it’s we’re gonna see you again soon.”
